Kangaroo Show Leads
Becky's leash braiding started when she braided a show lead for her then 12 year old daughter and her Australian Shepherd "Hotshot". This was a
purple and gold lead with a clip and no core. That lead is still in her daughters tack box and still fully functional even after 12 years.
When Becky started braiding Kangaroo Show Leads for other people on requst, the clients dubbed her leads as "Lucky Leads"....this came from people's change of luck the first or second time they used the leads. Everything from a couple of Best in Shows, to New Champions, to winning Puppy Sweeps or Westminster . While Becky loves to hear of her clients sucesses in the rings she does NOT guarantee that they are lucky, but it's sure fun to hope.
Becky's braided leads will come to you ready to use. Soft and supple. There will of couse still need to be some breaking in, but they will not be stiff or rough in your hands. Each lead is prepped and conditioned as it is being braided and again after it is completed.
About Kangaroo Leather
Kangaroo leather is a strong lightweight leather dirived from the hide of a the Kangaroo.
Studies conducted by the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) confirm that kangaroo leather is one of the strongest leathers of similar substance available.
When split into thinner pieces kangaroo leather retains considerably more of the original tensile strength of the unsplit leather than calf leather. When split to 20% of original thickness kangaroo leather retains between 30 to 60% of the tensile strength of the unsplit hide. Calf when split to the same 20% of its original thickness retains only 1-4% of original strength.
Kangaroo leather is lighter and stronger than the hide of a cow or goat. It has 10 times the tensile strength of cowhide and is 50% stronger than goatskin.

All leads are hand braided by Becky herself. So sometimes there is a wait. Her finished product will leave you smiling and coming back for more.
